N&C Engagement party weekend

We drove down to LA to go to Nate and Cindy's engagement party at the Crocker Club, which is an old bank converted into a club. It was very chic and very fun.

The weekend itself was long and full of no sleep, but all good times with the family together!


Larry has about 3 weeks till graduation and hopefully the whole family will get together for that as well.

Lately we have just been cleaning, packing and cooking non-stop! Only two more weeks until we are settled in our new house!

Decorating

I have been mentally decorating this house since the moment I first saw it. That is how my obsessive mind works. Right now this is literally the ONLY corner in the entire house that has any furniture in it. This was a weird space that was too small for a table to fit and I have never really understood the whole having a table less than two feet away from another table. I toyed around with all kinds of ideas of what to put in this corner because it was also too big of a corner to leave empty! This weekend we went to Santa Cruz for larry's alumni weekend and we ended up hitting up a ton of garage sales. I found this old redwood patio chair at a garage sale and the moment I saw it, it was love at first sight! (Larry did not understand at all) we got it to fit magically in our civic and only paid 5 dollars for it. It did not have cushions, so for the time being I put my big floor cushions on it that my mom made me, and it is possibly the MOST comfortable chair in the world! (Larry, no officially understands my love for this chair) Sunday morning I threw larry out of bed, gathered all the things I thought would complete the look of the corner from around the house and drove the family over to the new place! It was fun to have one complete and perfect corner! I hung some curtains in the kitchen later that day as well. Larry tried to hang my fabulous kitchen hook that I got last year and restored on the wall....until he realized that he actually installed it not into just the wall but the pocket door that was inside that wall! he he he. So, we have a tiny little nail hole in our pocket door....doesn't seem noticeable!

After all that we went and bought paint! FUSHIA for our bathroom....which i already put one coat on and when I left last night while it was still wet, my eyes were playing tricks on me to what color it actually is!! We got a fabulous bright green for the kid's bedroom, this is the one I am the most excited about! We also got a fabulous turquoise for the hall bathroom. Should be bright, cheery and fun!

More painting will happen tonight I believe, I will post pictures as the project come along!

A new home!

We got approved and all the paper work is in for the house on 136 white cottage! I am so very excited! I really like our landlord (from what I can tell so far!). He is very relaxed, he said we can start moving in whenever we want even though we technically don't move in until June 1st! So crazy, we officially have over a month to SLOWLY move in as we want! The funny thing is, this is the first place we are allowed to do whatever we want as far as paint and paintings and decorations and such....and well, i already like the paint colors! The one room I do want to paint is the kid's room because its a little dark and needs a little more sunshine in there! I couldn't be happier (well, actually I do wish that it had ONE more bedroom!).

Bella seems to be going through a stage of the terrible twos. Its all I can think of that is making her so irritable and impatient! I have never experienced the little temper tantrums (from her) like these before. Sometimes I feel like I am walking on eggshells!

Today is friday funday, so I am hoping that larry and I think of something amazing to do together this afternoon before I go to work!

At ease

So, Larry has picked the name Marley Donovan Pena for the new little guy coming. I love it! I am very relieved for some reason for him to have a name!

We also finally got to get inside of this one rental and fell in love with it. We have submitted the paperwork so now we will see how it will all work out!

Today larry took a long lunch and we went to napa to go thrift storing, looking for new stuff we may want for our new spacious place. I pretty much found nothing at the thrift store (napa is no good for thrift stores!) Though, I did redecorate the entire place with all the stuff I found at World Market! I just can't wait to go back and get all the stuff. I figured I should probably wait until the place was ours for sure though!

As of the moment we will move June 1st, which is only a couple weeks away! We are going to try to have a garage sale soon, I am hoping to make the same amount of money I need to get all the stuff I want at World Market!

A name

Contemplating drawing a name from a hat. That is how indecisive Larry and I are. I have been toying around with names by whenever I think about the baby I insert one of the names we have discussed and see what feels the most comfortable to say. Sadly, its different every single moment.

I can imagine a little Larry being named Finnegan and Judas. I can imagine a little male version of myself being named Marley or Oscar.

Spring is here!

At last, the weather is definitely shifting back and forth from winter to spring! Everyday we get closer to being done with dreary winter! Yesterday it was a miserably cloudy morning and shifted to a lovely sunny, windy afternoon. Bella and I went for a walk and picked some flowers to decorate for Grandma and Grandpa's visit today.

No more leads on the housing situation, which makes me so very nervous. But, we have lowered our standards (could they get lower?) and of course our price as well. Maybe that will help!

I am beginning serious potty training with Bella today, hopefully. I think Bella is ready, but I am not sure I am!

We have been doing some serious spring cleaning this week, which feels fabulous in every way. It is also helping with the anxiety of moving in a couple of weeks! I love throwing out stuff, but I find I love shopping on craigslist even more! For instance I found a leather couch and chair set, that is pretty cheap...and though we don't particularly have the money for it right now, I am seriously contemplating going to go look at them!

Sunshine and Waterfalls

Well, Friday turned out quite a bit different then we had planned. One lady that was going to show us a house decided to take the house off the market, and then the 4 bedroom house we decided not waste anyone's time with since we obviously don't need a place that big.

We had the afternoon free together till 430, when I had to go to work. We ate at Busters and then we were going to go to the park when I remembered it was Friday Funday at work and called Marenda. We met everyone at work and withing 45 minutes (a record) we convinced them to all come up to Angwin to go to the waterfalls! It was HOT and sunny and glorious!

We munched on Popsicles on the way down and played in the water. I had to leave early to get to work on time. But before we left we had made a plan to go surfing with Julian in the morning. (even though at almost six months pregnant I would not be able to go out, I still wanted a glimpse at the ocean)

So we woke up Saturday at 5:30 and I made breakfast burritos and packed an adorable breakfast picnic for us while larry loaded the boards and got Bella dressed. We were on the road with lattes by 6 am!

We went to Pacifica (SF) and the waves were pretty decent. It was a Saturday so it was a bit crowded. It was also no longer warm....AT ALL. The boys couldn't quite get the stones to go out....so instead they threw stones at a large altar that larry and bella built with other stones. Even without the surfing it was by far one of the best mornings I have had in a while. Good coffee, good food, good beach, good surfing to watch (lots of longboarders!).

We decided to leave early since it was starting to rain and because I had to be at work by 12. Turns out I was about 15 minutes late....even though we left early. Jen was not happy. So just when I thought larry and I should make a habbit of going out every Saturday.....yeah.

I have OFFICIALLY decided the MOMENT larry gets his job I will probably request Friday and Saturdays off. I just seriously need to be a little more free to be with my family.

It has been rainy and cloudy and miserable ever since that glorious Saturday morning. Bella and I have been trapped inside with nothing to do but clean and watch movies. Well, off to go have lunch with larry, my one hour with him today!

Where Will We Be In 2 Months

Larry is a few weeks into his last quarter in college. He has a possible job lined up to start right after graduation here in Angwin, CA. I will start my massage therapy classes in June or July. We need to move out of Student Married Housing during that same time. So, we are busy planning our next move! This time it can't be just anything we can find, it has to have a few certain key things....like more room. We are expecting our son to arrive August 8th and though babies are small, they come with a lot of stuff!

I am nervous to see how everything will fall into place. I am excited to find out how exactly it is going to. I am very excited about moving into a home and not just another apartment. I am excited for larry to be done with school and hopefully have a fabulous job that will launch his career. I am excited about the new baby (a boy!) but I am also nervous to see what it is like to be a mother of two vs. a mother of one. I am curious to watch Bella be an older sister. I am nervous I won't give her as much attention as she and I are used to.

So, in the next 10 weeks or so, we sit and wait and see how it will all unfold. Today, Larry and I will go look at two different houses to rent (very different, one is a 2 bedroom and one is 4 bedroom!) Then its off to work for me! Its the begining of the weekend and the weather is amazing so far! I am hoping that we will get outside and play in the sunshine!
